November is Military Family

Appreciation Month

  

Many of our military families are barely getting by on their pay and benefits and do not have much left for extras.  As the holiday season approaches, Americans are reminded of the blessing of freedom that we all share.  We are grateful for the sacrifices made by our military and their families.

 

Hugs for Soldiers is collecting canned food and non-perishable food items to make Thanksgiving food baskets for Soldiers and Families at Fort Benning through the Battle Buddy Resource Center.  The Center is a food bank ministry of the Fort Benning Chaplains and ministry outreach to the Fort Benning community.

 

Donations will be accepted at the Duluth First United Methodist Church through Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

 

• Canned Green Beans, Corn

• Cranberry Sauce

• Canned Yams 

• Chicken Broth

• Instant Potatoes

• Canned Fruit

• Marconi & Cheese

• Chicken/Turkey Gravy

• Dessert Mixes

• Stuffing Mix

• Jell-O

 

 

Send a Thanksgiving Blessing to our Soldiers in the form of a card or letter and we will include it in our food baskets. 

 

Financial donations or gift cards are appreciated to help purchase items not received.  Checks are made payable to Hugs for Soldiers, DUMC and mailed to P. O. Box 2887, Duluth, GA  30096.

 

Donation boxes are located in the Fellowship Hall and just inside the back entrance to the Family Life Center.
